Uniform

Implementation: General

  • The Dress Code applies during school hours, while travelling to and from school, and when students are on school excursions
  • Summer and winter uniforms, as well as sports uniforms will be prescribed, and are required to be worn. 
  • School Hats are to be worn as outlined in our Sunsmart Policy
  • Gold or silver stud or sleeper earrings may be worn as well as a wristwatch:
  • One pair of earrings in the bottom of their ear lobes. No other visible piercings are permitted.
  • Studs may be plain gold or silver or have a small clear stone or one small hoop per ear.
  • Hair Styles:
    • Extreme hair colours and/or hairstyles are not permitted by all students.
    • Primary Girls – where hair is longer than shoulder length it is to be tied back. 
    • Secondary Girls – where hair is longer than shoulder length it is to be pulled back off the face. 
    • Primary and Secondary boys – The shortest hair cut is to be a number 2.  No mohawks or patterns in haircuts are permitted.
  • Cosmetics
    • Primary School:  clear nail polish
    • Secondary School: Years 7 to 9 –  clear nail polish
    • Secondary School: Years 10 to 12 – light makeup
  • Shoes in Tech Area of School
    • Year 7-9 students covered school or sports shoe may be worn
    • Year 10-12 Black leather shoes must be worn in Metal & Wood classes
  • Anklet socks are not permitted except if worn with sports uniform.
  • Shoes must be polished, non-platform and not have a heel greater than 3 cm.
  • Summer Uniform is worn Terms 1 & 4.  Winter Uniform is worn Terms 2 & 3. At times throughout the year, due to the weather, there will be a period when either uniform may be worn.
  • All children are to wear their Sports Uniform on the nominated school sport days. For the primary school the nominated Sports Day is Thursday. In the secondary school the timetable varies based on the student’s timetable.   
  • If a uniform item is not available to be worn on any one day, a note is to be written by a parent/guardian to the child’s class or home group teacher. 
  • The school operates a “Buy Back” scheme for good quality second hand uniforms, and second hand uniforms are available from the Uniform Shop. 
  • Arrangements can be made to supply uniforms to families experiencing economic hardship.
  • All students are expected to follow school code of behaviour while wearing their uniforms whether they are within or outside the school property.
  • Parents seeking exemptions or alterations to the Dress Code due to religious beliefs, ethnic or cultural background, student disability, health condition or economic hardship must apply in writing to the Principal who will make decisions on a case-by-case basis.
  • The Principal, in conjunction with the teaching staff, will be responsible for implementation of the Dress Code consistent with the student code of conduct.

Girls Summer Uniform – Standard

Girls wear:

  • Summer dress
  • White socks – worn above the ankle
  • School shoes – either black polished shoes, laced or buckled OR Roman or blue sandals
  • Blue OR White Hair ties, ribbons, scrunchies or hair clips
  • School hat

Optional jumpers:

  • Grades R-6 students: Navy V-neck school jumper OR school zip jacket OR school woollen jumper
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy Blazer. If additional warmth required, school woollen jumper worn under blazer.
  • Grade 6 & 12 – Graduating Class jumper

Girls Summer Uniform – Sports

Girls wear:

  • School sports short-sleeved polo shirt – navy (R-6) OR navy and maroon polo shirt (7-12)
  • Navy blue shorts (R-6) OR navy monogrammed shorts (7-12) OR pleated navy skirt (R-6) OR navy skort (R-6)
  • White sports socks
  • Sports shoes
  • Blue OR White Hair ties, ribbons, scrunchies or hair clips
  • School hat

Optional clothes for warmth:

  • Grades R-6 students: Navy V-neck school jumper OR school zip jacket
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy sports jacket
  • Grades R-6 students: Navy track pants
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy monogrammed track pants

Boys Summer Uniform – Standard

Boys wear:

  • School Blue short-sleeved shirt
  • College grey school shorts – no cargo shorts permitted
  • Grey socks – worn above the ankle
  • School shoes – either black polished shoes, laced OR Roman or blue sandals
  • School hat

Optional jumpers:

  • Grades R-6 students: Navy V-neck school jumper OR school zip jacket OR school woollen jumper
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy Blazer. If additional warmth required, school woollen jumper worn under blazer.

Girls wear:

  • School Pinafore (R- 4) – knee length or below
  • School Skirt (5-12) – knee length or below
  • White long-sleeved school shirt with pointed collar – tucked into skirt
  • School tie – either elasticised neck (R-6) or full tie (R-12)
  • White socks – worn above the ankle (R-12) OR navy tights (R-12) OR black stockings (6-12)
  • School shoes – black polished shoes, either laced or buckled
  • Blue OR White OR Red/Maroon Hair ties, ribbons, scrunchies or hair clips

Jumpers:

  • Grades R-6 students: Navy V-neck school jumper OR school zip jacket OR school woollen jumper
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy Blazer. If additional warmth required, school woollen jumper worn under blazer.

  • White long-sleeved school shirt with pointed collar – tucked into trousers
  • College grey long school trousers or Summer shorts – no cargo pants permitted
  • School tie – either elasticised neck (Primary students) or full tie (Primary and Secondary)
  • Grey socks – worn above the ankle
  • School shoes – black polished shoes, laced

Jumpers:

  • Grades R-6 students: Navy V-neck school jumper OR school zip jacket OR school woollen jumper
  • Grades 7-12 students: Navy Blazer. If additional warmth required, school woollen jumper worn under blazer.
