Robotics Club and Technology Club (Primary & Secondary)

Secondary Robotics and Technology Club students benefited from a new project plan that involved the students working towards numerous goals, projects and challenges throughout the course of the year.

The first project challenge for the group involved them working towards creating a 3D render and 3D print for the Advanced Technology 3D Printing Competition ran by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA at the Royal Adelaide Show.
Their International Space Station model was awarded 1st place under the category of Year 8-9 Space Theme, which was a wonderful outcome.

Students then moved onto the First Lego League challenge of 2017 titled Hydrodynamics. This involved students creating a new robot design, programming the robot and undergoing a research project. Students attended the statewide event, where all challengers would meet and compete under a range of different categories.

Primary students spent the year coming to terms with the base principles of computing technology and deciphering, which components were responsible for particular aspects in a given system.

In addition to this students worked away at designing and creating their own functional robots, which they would later test using a Bluetooth controller. Once each group was happy with their design and robot movement they would try their hand at basic programming.
